La protección contra incendio, calor y humo juegan un papel fundamental en el logro de la seguridad. Ésa es la razón por la que son necesarias soluciones inteligentes de protección contra incendio para ayudarle a llevar a cabo su responsabilidad – soluciones que detectan los peligros en el segundo en el que se producen, antes de que se escapen de las manos. Soluciones que reaccionan de forma correcta, rápida y adecuada y que ayudan a activar la respuesta apropiada.
Elementos del sistema:
Sistema automático de extinción de incendios: Dispositivo que detecta automáticamente un incendio y lleva a cabo la descarga del agua o agente extintor en o sobre el fuego. Las medidas de funcionamiento de los sistemas contra incendios se pueden clasificar en activas y pasivas. Las primeras hacen referencia a los sistemas que se ponen en funcionamiento una vez se a detectado un incendio, o un principio del mismo, para evitar daños mayores y preservar la seguridad de las personas, animales y bienes materiales que se encuentren en el lugar. Entre estos medios activos se encuentran los rociadores o sprinklers de agua o CO2 (dióxido de carbono) y la variada gama de detectores. Entre los segundos sistemas, los sistemas pasivos, medidas adoptadas para la prevención de siniestros entre lo que se encuentran medidas de prevención, cartearía, puertas y ventanas anti-flama, utilización de elementos no combustibles, etc. Especialmente en este artículo tratamos los diversos sistemas del primer tipo, es decir sistemas activos.
